A few common questions.
How matching works, what stays private, and what to expect from your files.
Need to see what repeats? Explore the duplicate report. Or just remove empty lines and sort your list.
What is a duplicate line remover?
It compares the lines in a list and removes repeats. By default, this tool keeps the first copy of each exact line in its original position. You can change how it matches and which copies it keeps.
How do I remove duplicate lines online?
Paste your list into the input, or upload a supported text file. Choose a duplicate-handling mode and matching options. The cleaned result appears automatically for smaller inputs; for larger lists, press Remove duplicate lines. Then copy or download it.
Is my text uploaded to a server?
No. This tool processes text and files in a worker inside your browser. It has no text-upload endpoint and does not save your input in browser storage. Normal page requests still reach the website’s hosting provider.
Can I remove duplicate lines without Excel?
Yes. Paste a column or a list here, clean it, and copy the result back. Each physical line is treated as one item, so you do not need spreadsheet formulas.
Can I keep the first duplicate?
Yes. Keep first occurrence is the default. It keeps the first instance of every matched line and preserves the order of those instances unless you select a sort order.
Can I keep the last duplicate?
Yes. Select Keep last occurrence. The remaining lines follow the positions of their last occurrences in your input. This can be useful when later entries contain preferred capitalization or spacing.
Can I remove all repeated lines?
Yes. Choose Remove all duplicates. This removes every occurrence of a repeated line and keeps only lines that appear exactly once under your matching settings.
Can I remove duplicate lines from a TXT file?
Yes. Upload or drop a UTF-8 .txt file up to 10 MB onto the input. The file is read on your device. You can also paste its contents directly.
Does it work on CSV files?
Yes, for comparing whole physical lines. It does not parse columns or quoted multiline CSV records. For CSV with embedded line breaks, use a CSV-aware application so records are not split incorrectly. TSV and log files use the same line-based approach.
Can I use this tool on mobile?
Yes. The editors and controls stack vertically on smaller screens. Paste from your device’s clipboard, choose a file when supported, and copy or download the cleaned text.
Clean your text in seconds.
Keep what matters. Leave the repeats behind.
